Hand carved one pound foam, urethane hard coat, steel face grill, steel stantion, laminated mdf base on locking castors.
What made this prop so unusual among all the props that I've done before is that it's shrink wrapped in vinyl graphics. Paint would have been madness on such a thing. To do it correctly would have cost as much as the sculpt, if not more.
A graphic artist laid out the design. The vinyl guys took those components and placed them into multi planer templates and then printed them up. Once printed, it's ready to install, slick, colorful, looks like the art because it is the art and, it's done in a day.
It is not the same thing as a beautiful paint job. It has seams that over lap slightly. Some of the seams are a little wacky, there may be a wrinkle or two on tighter weirder shapes here and there but, with in it's contexts that doesn't really matter at all. This was a prop, not a show car and, as such it serves it's purpose very well for much less money and most importantly with super effect.
